Skin Boosters in Aldershot, Hampshire

Skin Booster Treatments

Skin boosters are a type of cosmetic treatment designed to improve skin hydration, elasticity, and overall appearance by delivering hyaluronic acid, amino acids, or other beneficial ingredients directly into the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that add volume and contour to the face, skin boosters focus on enhancing the skin’s texture and radiance from within.

What are Skin Boosters?

Hydration: They help to deeply hydrate the skin, making it look plumper and more refreshed.

Elasticity: By stimulating collagen and elastin production, they improve the skin’s elasticity, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Texture: Skin boosters can smooth out the skin’s surface, giving it a more even and youthful texture.

Radiance: They enhance the skin’s natural glow, making it look healthier and more vibrant.

What Skin Boosters Do?

Healthy skin isn't about adding volume, it's about restoring hydration.

Your appointment begins with a thorough skin consultation to assess your skin condition, concerns and treatment suitability. If treatment is appropriate, small amounts of product are placed into the skin using fine needles. You'll be given clear aftercare advice so you know what to expect afterwards.

What Happens During Treatment?

Skin boosters may be right for you if you're looking to improve hydration, texture and overall skin quality, rather than add volume or change facial structure. Suitability, and which product is best suited to your skin, is always assessed during your consultation.

Are Skin Boosters Right for Me?

We offer more than one type of skin booster, as different products suit different skin concerns and goals. Your practitioner will recommend the right option for you during your consultation.

Types of Skin Boosters

Sunekos is a cutting-edge injectable treatment that focuses on skin regeneration by stimulating the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.

01. Sunekos

Utilising a patented cluster of amino acids combined with low and medium molecular weight hyaluronic acid, Sunekos enhances fibroblast activity within the dermis, promoting the synthesis of these critical proteins. This process restores the extracellular matrix (ECM) homeostasis, essential for maintaining the skin's structure, scaffolding, elasticity, and malleable strength.

Additionally, Sunekos acts as a free radical scavenger, offering antioxidant benefits while volumising the skin. It also promotes the production of 'golden' collagen types IV and VII, contributing to a youthful, revitalised complexion with natural-looking results.

Suitable for use on the face, neck, décolletage, and other body areas, Sunekos provides a comprehensive approach to achieving a radiant and rejuvenated appearance.

Sunekos is available in two strengths, Sunekos 200 and Sunekos 1200, so your practitioner can tailor treatment to the area and level of correction needed

How much do Skin Boosters cost?

Combining Skin Boosters With Other Treatments

Skin boosters are often used as part of a wider skin health plan. Some patients choose to combine Sunekos or Profhilo with microneedling or chemical peel treatments to support surface skin renewal, or with polynucleotides where deeper skin repair and regeneration is required.

Any combination approach is discussed in detail during consultation and tailored to your skin condition, goals and suitability.

Skin boosters are composed primarily of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that retains moisture and promotes elasticity. They can also contain additional ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids to further enhance skin health.

By creating micro-injuries in the skin through the injection process, skin boosters stimulate the skin's natural healing response, promoting the production of collagen and elastin. This improves skin texture and firmness over time, and while not as dramatic as traditional fillers, can also help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by plumping the skin and improving its texture.

Sunekos can be used on the face, neck, décolletage and other areas of the body. Profhilo can be used on the face, neck and body. Commonly treated facial areas include the cheeks, forehead and around the mouth, and skin boosters can also be used on the hands to improve hydration and skin quality as they age.

Consultation: you'll have a consultation with your qualified practitioner to assess your skin condition and determine the right treatment plan.

Preparation: your skin is cleaned, and a topical anaesthetic may be applied to minimise discomfort.

Injection: using fine needles or cannulas, the skin booster is injected into the middle layer of the skin (the dermis). Multiple small injections are typically required to cover the treatment area.

Aftercare: you'll be advised to avoid intense exercise, excessive sun exposure, and touching or massaging the treated area immediately after your treatment.

For Sunekos, most patients have an initial course of 3 to 4 treatments 2 weeks apart, followed by one treatment every 6 months to maintain results. For Profhilo, most patients have 2 to 3 treatments around 4 weeks apart, followed by 6-monthly maintenance.

Both Sunekos and Profhilo treatments typically take around 30 minutes.

Recovery time is usually 12 to 48 hours, with some swelling and redness at the injection sites.

Initial improvements in hydration and radiance can be seen within a few days, with full results, including improved texture and elasticity, developing over a few weeks as collagen production is stimulated. With Sunekos, final results are usually seen from 4 weeks. With Profhilo, a noticeable improvement is usually seen after 4 weeks following a single treatment.

Results can last from 6 months to a year, depending on the product used and your individual skin. Periodic treatments every 6 to 12 months are recommended to maintain results.

Common side effects include temporary swelling, redness, bruising and slight discomfort at the injection sites, which typically resolve within a few days. As with any injectable treatment, there's a rare risk of infection, allergic reaction or uneven results, having your treatment performed by a qualified, experienced practitioner is essential to minimise these risks.
