Non-Surgical Pelvic Floor Strengthening & Intimate Wellness

EMSELLA Chair

EMSELLA is an FDA cleared, medical CE marked treatment that uses HIFEM® (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, completely non-surgically and without removing any clothing.

At BW MedAesthetics in Aldershot, Hampshire, EMSELLA is used to support men and women experiencing incontinence, pelvic floor weakness and reduced intimate wellness. All treatments begin with a consultation, to ensure it is the appropriate treatment for you.

FDA Cleared, Medical CE Marked Pelvic Floor Treatment

EMSELLA uses HIFEM® technology to deliver a rapid series of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions in a single session, far more than could be achieved through voluntary exercises such as Kegels alone.

This helps to rebuild and re-educate the pelvic floor muscles, improving strength and control over time.

How Does EMSELLA Work?

Treatment is completely non-invasive and takes place with you fully clothed, seated in the EMSELLA chair.

To prepare for treatment, wear loose, comfortable clothing and use the bathroom shortly before your session.

What Happens During Treatment?

Benefits of EMSELLA

In clinical studies, women experiencing sexual dysfunction saw an average 51% improvement in symptom scores following treatment, and men experiencing erectile dysfunction reported a 37% improvement in maintaining an erection during intercourse. Individual results vary, and this is something we're always happy to discuss at your consultation.

EMSELLA may be suitable if you're experiencing pelvic floor weakness after childbirth, during or after menopause, or as part of the natural ageing process or following prostate surgery.

A few things affect suitability.  Suitability is always assessed carefully at your consultation.

Treatment cost

Each session lasts approximately 28 minutes.
A typical course involves 6 sessions (or 8 for more severe symptoms), delivered twice weekly over 3 to 4 weeks. Courses can be repeated after 3 to 6 months if needed.

Treatment time

Most patients notice an improvement after a single session, with results typically continuing to improve over the following weeks.

Studies show an 85 to 95% satisfaction rate at 6 months. How long results last varies by patient and the severity of symptoms. Most people benefit from a repeat session between 6 and 12 months after their last treatment.

EMSELLA targets and strengthens the pelvic floor muscles directly, helping you learn to properly control and activate them. Laser and radiofrequency treatments instead target collagen and elastin in the tissue. The two approaches can be complementary, addressing different aspects of intimate health.

EMSELLA is suitable for most people looking to address incontinence, recover pelvic floor strength after childbirth, or improve their intimate wellbeing. Some conditions affect suitability, and this is always confirmed at your consultation.

Yes. EMSELLA is FDA cleared and medical CE marked, and has been studied extensively for the treatment of incontinence and intimate discomfort.

It depends on where the metal is. Metal anywhere between your belly button and your knees, including implants and piercings, rules out EMSELLA treatment. Metal elsewhere in the body, such as a shoulder implant, does not. If you have any metal implants or piercings, please tell us at your consultation so we can check whether treatment is suitable for you.

No. EMSELLA uses HIFEM technology, which has no thermal effect on the tissue.
